It’s been years since I’ve been to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, but this visually stunning journey through the park during peak fall color makes me want to go back. The time-lapse of the night sky at the end is amazing.
This short film was created by brothers Will & Jim Pattiz as part of their More Than Just Parks project where they plan to travel to and create a film about all of America’s 59 national parks. Sounds like a great way to see the country and spend some quality time with your brother.
The brothers made this film during a two-week expedition of the Smokies:
Our adventure started in the beautiful Northwest corner of the park in the popular area known as Cades Cove. From there we hiked, camped, backpacked, and drove all around the park, ending up where our adventure had begun. Scroll down to learn more about our journey through the park including filming locations, equipment used, photos, and more.
