Photos: What Up Mang & Twenty And Bored Album Release Show

On December 20, San Francisco’s Showdown Saloon hosted an album release show for hype new electronic acts What Up Mang and Twenty And Bored. The rain that assaulted the Bay Area on and off the previous two weeks (#hellastorm) held off long enough to let the masses arrive on a semi-dry evening. There was energy and electricity swirling through the club that Saturday night as Twenty And Bored kicked things off by taking everyone on journey to a tropical paradise filled with dolphins, coconuts, and sub-bass. What Up Mang nailed it the second half of the night playing hits from their critically acclaimed new album Golden Hour as well as a few surprises, including thrilling electro-fied covers of Billy Ray Cyrus’s “Achy Breaky Heart” and Beastie Boys “Girls.” Drinks were flowing and the dance floor was packed with sweaty bodies all night. In case you missed out on this epic evening, word has it that What Up Mang will soon release a video of their full performance on the Smoothspin Records YouTube channel.
