Watch Metallica Shred The National Anthem At A San Francisco Giants Game

For the third consecutive year, the San Francisco Giants honored local boys Metallica with “Metallica Night” at AT&T Park. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett kicked things off by setting up their custom orange and black Mesa-Boogie and Randall (really?) amps near the mound for a scorching dueling guitar rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner”.  Lars Ulrich then threw out the first pitch and later led the park with a “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” sing along.

The boys also had time to film a super corny commercial in the Giants duggout where they stole the Giants’ white home uniforms and dyed them “Metallica black.”

If you missed out on this year’s festivities don’t worry, you still have time to get tickets for the annual Grateful Dead Night at the August 13 Giants home game.
